Mallikarjun Mishra was born on 24 September 2006 in Bokaro Steel City, Jharkhand, India. He developed a passion for rope skipping during his school days, and he began competing in the sport in 2015 when he was in Class 5 at '''Bokaro Public School'''.
He began training under the guidance of his coach '''Rahul Pratap'''. He began competing at the school level and then proceeded to CBSE national championships and further to senior national and international championships.
He resumed his participation in the sport irrespective of the impact caused by the COVID-19 virus. After an interval of about two years in competitions, he resumed his participation in the national level in 2022.
