Ravi Kishan began his acting career in the early 1990s and gained popularity through Bhojpuri films.
He became widely recognized after participating in the reality show *Bigg Boss* (2006), where he was the second runner-up.
He later appeared in *Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5* (2012) and hosted TV shows like *Raaz Pichhle Janam Ka* on NDTV Imagine.

In 2010, his Bhojpuri film *Jala Debh Duniya Tohra Pyar Mein* was showcased at the Cannes Film Festival.
He made his Telugu debut with *Race Gurram* (2014), Kannada debut with *Hebbuli* (2017), and Tamil debut with *Monisha En Monalisa* (1999).
He won **Filmfare** and **IIFA Awards** for Best Supporting Actor for his role in *Laapataa Ladies* (2023).

== Political Career ==
Ravi Kishan entered politics in 2014 by joining the **Indian National Congress**, contesting from Jaunpur in the general elections.
In 2017, he joined the **Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)** and contested from **Gorakhpur** in the 2019 general elections, winning with a margin of over 3 lakh votes.
He was re-elected in **2024**, defeating **Kajal Nishad** of the Samajwadi Party by over one lakh votes.
