Production

Ajay Devgn returns in Son of Sardaar 2, playing the same character he played in the first film. At first, Sanjay Dutt was also supposed to return, but he could not join the UK shoot because his visa application was rejected. So, the filmmakers replaced him with actor Ravi Kishan for the scenes in the UK.

However, Sanjay Dutt later confirmed that he is still part of the movie, but he will not appear in the parts that were filmed in the UK. Another actor, Vijay Raaz, was also signed for a role but was later removed from the project.

The shooting of the movie started in July 2024 in Edinburgh, Scotland. The schedule there lasted for about 50 days. After that, the crew moved to other locations in the UK, including London and the Firth of Forth, to shoot more scenes.

Later, filming also took place in Punjab, India, to capture some important parts of the story. In April 2025, actress Kubbra Sait completed her dubbing work for the film, which means she recorded her voice for her scenes.
