Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCSU), formerly known as Meerut University, is a prominent public state university located in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. The university was established in 1965 with the aim of providing higher education to the students of Western Uttar Pradesh.[1] It was renamed in 1991 in honor of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh on the occasion of its Silver Jubilee.

History
