Suryakumar Ashok Yadav is an Indian international cricketer who represents the Indian national team in all formats. He is referred to as "Mr. 360" because of his inventive shots and aggressive batting style. Yadav is an important member of the Indian T20 team and bats in the middle order.

Early Life & Education

Suryakumar Yadav was born on 14 September 1990 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, to Ashok Kumar Yadav and Swapna Yadav. He graduated from Pillai College in Mumbai with a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.). He was raised in Mumbai, where he became passionate about cricket at a young age and trained hard in neighborhood clubs.

Career

After starting his domestic cricket career with Mumbai in 2009, Yadav went on to play for the Mumbai Indians (2018–present) and Kolkata Knight Riders (2014–2017) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). After making his debut for India in 2021, he immediately gained recognition for his inventive stroke play and consistency, particularly in T20 Internationals. Additionally, he has captained the Indian T20 team several times.

Notable Works

Asia Cup 2023

An important factor in India's victory in the 2023 Asia Cup was Suryakumar Yadav. Despite playing in just one tournament match, he made a big impact. His performance demonstrated his potential under pressure and demonstrated his capacity to step up when things got tough.

ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024

Yadav's athleticism was evident in the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup final against South Africa. He dismissed David Miller with an incredible catch close to the boundary line, which pundit Ian Smith called "one of the greatest" moments in T20 cricket history. India won their second T20 World Cup thanks in large part to his all-around efforts.

Asia Cup 2025

Suryakumar Yadav encountered both difficulties and praise while leading the Indian squad in the 2025 Asia Cup. His leadership remained unwavering even though he had a poor batting performance, scoring just 71 runs in five innings. Wasim Akram, the former captain of Pakistan, criticized him for calling for a "obstruction on the field" review during the final against Pakistan, saying it was unnecessary. Yadav also upheld India's "No Handshake" policy by purposefully not shaking hands with Pakistan's captain during the toss, a move that sparked new conversations about cricket relations between the two countries.
