Early Life & Education
Kriti was born on born 27 July 1990 in New Delhi to Geeta Sanon, a physics professor, and Rahul Sanon, a chartered accountant. She belongs to a Punjabi Hindu family. Her younger sister, Nupur Sanon, is also an actress. Kriti completed her schooling at Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram, and earned a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Telecommunication from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida. Before acting, she briefly worked as a model.
Career
Early Work (2014–2020)
Kriti made her acting debut in 2014 with the Telugu film 1: Nenokkadine and the Hindi film Heropanti, winning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for the latter. She gained recognition for roles in commercially successful films like Bareilly Ki Barfi, Luka Chuppi, Dilwale, and Housefull 4.
Breakthrough & Awards (2021–2023)
Her performance in Mimi (2021) as a surrogate mother earned Kriti the National Film Award and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. She continued acting in films like Hum Do Hamare Do, Bachchhan Paandey, Bhediya, and Adipurush, with mixed commercial success.
