Dhurandhar is an Indian Hindi-language spy action thriller film written, directed, and co-produced by Aditya Dhar. The film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar under the banners Jio Studios and B62 Studios. Featuring an ensemble cast, the film stars Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal in pivotal roles, alongside Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi in supporting roles.
Set against the backdrop of global espionage and national security, Dhurandhar follows the story of a fearless RAW agent caught in a web of covert missions, political conspiracies, and personal sacrifice. The film combines intense action, emotional depth, and a gripping narrative inspired by real-life intelligence operations.
Principal photography began in July 2024 and took place across several international and domestic locations, including Bangkok, Amritsar, Mumbai, and Ladakh. The cinematography is handled by Vikash Nowlakha, with editing by Shivkumar V. Panicker and music composed by Shashwat Sachdev.
Dhurandhar is scheduled for a theatrical release on 5 December 2025, and is expected to be one of the most anticipated Indian action thrillers of the year.

Production
Development
The film was officially announced by Ranveer Singh in July 2024 on social media. The title Dhurandhar was revealed in December 2024. The story is said to be inspired by real-life events, global conflicts, and RAW’s secret missions. Journalist Aditya Raj Kaul, who is a Senior Executive Editor at TV9 Network, worked as a consultant for the film.
Filming
Filming for Dhurandhar began in July 2024 with the first schedule taking place in Bangkok. The second schedule started in November 2024 near Amritsar and the Golden Temple. In February 2025, the production moved to Filmistan Studios, Mumbai, followed by additional shoots in Madh Island, which were completed by April 2025. Several high-octane action sequences were filmed at Mankoli Bridge in May 2025, while a dance number was shot at the Golden Tobacco Factory in Vile Parle during July 2025. Scenes set in Pakistan were recreated in Thailand for authenticity. In August 2025, the team filmed in Ladakh, but the schedule was briefly halted after several crew members fell ill. Ranveer Singh wrapped up his portions by October 2025, marking the completion of the film’s principal photography.
Casting
In July 2024, Ranveer Singh was confirmed as the lead actor, joined by Sanjay Dutt and R. Madhavan. Later, Akshaye Khanna and Arjun Rampal joined the cast. In October 2024, Sara Arjun was chosen to play the female lead opposite Singh. Ranveer Singh plays a RAW agent, and R. Madhavan plays National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
Soundtrack
The music of Dhurandhar is composed by Shashwat Sachdev, with additional music by Charanjit Ahuja. The lyrics are written by Hanumankind, Jasmine Sandlas, and Babu Singh Maan. The soundtrack features a mix of energetic rap, Punjabi folk, and contemporary orchestral sounds that match the film’s action-thriller tone.
The album opens with the title track “Dhurandhar”, performed by Muhammad Sadiq, Ranjit Kaur, Hanumankind, Jasmine Sandlas, Sudhir Yaduvanshi, and Shashwat Sachdev. It is a modern recreation of the 1995 Punjabi classic “Na Dil De Pardesi Nu”, originally sung by Muhammad Sadiq and Ranjit Kaur, with music by Charanjit Ahuja and lyrics by Babu Singh Maan. A remix version of the same song, titled “Na Dil De Pardesi Nu (Remix)”, also appears in the album.

Marketing
The first-look poster and teaser were released on 6 July 2025, which was Ranveer Singh’s 40th birthday. The teaser featured vocals by Jasmine Sandlas and a rap segment by Hanumankind.
