Haq (transl. Right) is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language courtroom drama film directed by Suparn Verma. It features Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam Dhar in the lead roles and was inspired by the famous Supreme Court case Mohd. Ahmed Khan v. Shah Bano Begum. The movie will be released in theaters on November 7, 2025.[1][2][3]
Plot
“Haq” is a courtroom-based story about Bano, a woman who fights a legal battle after her husband marries his cousin. The movie depicts her fight for justice and how the court considers social norms, religious convictions, and women's rights when making decisions.

Production
Haq, directed by Suparn S. Varma and produced by Junglee Pictures, Insomnia Films, and Baweja Studios, is written by Reshu Nath with music by Vishal Mishra. Inspired by Jigna Vora’s book Bano: Bharat ki Beti, the film highlights Shah Bano’s legal struggle. It was released in theatres on 7 November 2025 with a U/A certificate.
