Dr. Arun Kumar S Haripad with pen name Ezhuthalan is an Indian poet, author, lyricist and public speaker. His poetic contributions in both Malayalam and English have brought him considerable recognition. He is currently teaching English at the Vocational Higher Secondary Department. Besides, he holds the position of President of ‘Ee Yugam Literary and Cultural Association,’ Editor of ‘Darppanam Magazine,’ and President of Uvakalasahiti and Ipta Haripad.[1][2]

Early life and Education

Dr. Arun was born on 30 May 1980 in Haripad, Kerala, India. His father is Dr. L. Jayasree and mother is retired educator V.N. Sivasankara Pillai. He completed his M.A. English from Annamalai University and earned his B.Ed from Teacher Education Centre Kayamkulam. He qualified the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of higher secondary Lecturer, PhD in English and also completed a Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B) from Annamalai University.

Career

Dr. Arun Kumar S Haripad marked his literary path with the first poetry collection Sudarshanam, which won the hearts of the readers of Malayalam literature. Novu, another collection of Malayalam poems, was launched by V. Sivankutty, the Minister of Education, in Thiruvananthapuram, and the author is the one behind the release. The book's sale proceeds were allocated to compensate for the Wayanad landslides victims, and every penny earned went to the families who are financially struggling in the area. Throughout the years he wrote many precious pieces like Good Vision, Truth Goodness and Beauty Behind Love, Porali, and Ezhuthalan. Truth Goodness and Beauty Behind Love was accepted by the Minister of Agriculture P. Prasad at Haripad, who also released it. Atmayanathinte Kavita was another of his achievements, and an audio CD of it was eventually made. Dr. Arun has not only written poems but also contributed to the devotional music field with his albums, which include Ambalapuzha Kannan, Mannarisala Stuti Geetangal, Nenjile Novu, and Munpe Nadannavar. He is recognized as a great cultural figure in Kerala because of the constant participation in literature, music, and social issues.[3][4]

Social Activism

Dr. Arun Kumar S Ezhuthalan, besides literature, is a holistic teacher and a great initiator in the field of education and society. He unceasingly supported the infrastructure of the Thrippakkudam and Thalavady area through campaigns, and he also helped in providing the school with resources, organized yoga camps for children, and charitable efforts for disaster relief coordination . He is recognized for rallying literary organizations to engage in common issues of the community.
