Before IPL 2026 auction, Malewar has been performing extremely well in the first-class format. He has amassed as many as 1,151 runs in 13 first-class innings, which includes three centuries and eight half-centuries. His knack for going on to make big scores and yet attacking regularly has made Malewar one of the brightest young hopes for Indian cricket.[1][2]
His domestic performances were so successful that he was contracted to Mumbai Indians to participate in the 2026 IPL. He continued to show and prove his constant improvement and steady emergence on the scene.
