Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Ji was born on 15 August 1969 in Brahmanpur village, Uttar Pradesh. His birth name was Umashankar. From an early age, he showed a deep inclination toward spirituality and scriptural learning. He received traditional education in Sanskrit, Vedas, Upanishads, and Hindu philosophy under eminent saints and scholars of the Sanatan tradition.
Career
He was initiated into monastic life by Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati, the former Shankaracharya of Dwarka and Jyotir Math. After years of spiritual discipline and scholarly training, he was anointed as the Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math. In this role, he actively engages in religious discourse, public debates on cultural and spiritual issues, and campaigns for the protection of Hindu traditions.
