Dr. Megha Rani is an Indian author, social activist, and human rights advocate. She holds the position of State President at the Jharkhand National Human Rights Council (NHRC). Her work to develop Hindi literature and her efforts to promote human rights and women's rights have made her a well-known figure. She has received multiple national and international honors while she was nominated for the Padma Shri Award in both 2025 and 2026.

Dr. Megha Rani was born in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. Her father name is Manohar Kumar and mother name is Poonam Kumari. She completed her schooling in Ranchi and later she completed graduation in B.A with Honours in Economics. She also obtained an Advanced Diploma in Computer Applications.
Career
Dr. Megha Rani started her professional career in the banking and corporate sector. She later became involved in social work and human rights advocacy. She currently works as State President of the Jharkhand National Human Rights Council to address justice issues and advance equality and human rights education. She engages in social work while simultaneously working as a Hindi author and public speaker.
