Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCSU) was founded in 1965 to meet the increasing demand for higher education in western Uttar Pradesh,India. The University campus located in Meerut is spread over 222 acres of eco-friendly lush green area, providing students access to contemporary academic facilities including state-of-the-art resources.

In 1969, the university achieved a significant landmark when it became the first university in India to introduce PhD courses as well as M.Phil. programmes. The institution introduced postgraduate studies in 1973 after it updated its curriculum. CCSU has developed its programs throughout the years to meet international educational standards as well as the requirements of industrial organizations.
The city has developed into an important educational center which contains over 250 professional training centers together with 100 colleges that belong to different educational institutions. Key People
Founder
Chaudhary Charan Singh was a major Indian political leader and former Prime Minister. He was born on 23 December 1902, he played a key role in shaping agrarian policies and abolishing the zamindari system. His contributions earned him the title of a true “Kisan Leader,” and the university is named in his honor.
Chancellor (Governor of Uttar Pradesh)
Anandiben Patel distribute as the current Governor of Uttar Pradesh and she holds the position of university Chancellor. She began her political career as an experienced politician who became the first woman to hold the Chief Minister position in Gujarat. She uses her extensive administrative experience to direct university policy development while maintaining educational standards and strengthening institutional governance.
Vice Chancellor
Sangeeta Shukla, the Vice Chancellor of the university, has gained recognition as an accomplished academic professional through her dedication to advancing research and educational quality.
