Early Life & Education

Mithila Palkar was born on 11 January 1993 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, into a Marathi family. She spent her early years in Vasai before moving to Dadar with her grandparents.

She completed her schooling at IES Modern English School, Dadar, and later pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media (BMM) from MMK College, Bandra.

She participated in dramatics and dance and music during her school and college years. She also trained in Hindustani classical music and Kathak dance.

Career

Mithila Palkar started her acting career with the Marathi short film Majha Honeymoon (2014). Her first appearance in Bollywood came with Katti Batti (2015), where she played a supporting role.

She became famous in 2016 when her "cup song" video went viral and reached millions of views, which increased her popularity on social media platforms.

Her breakthrough performance came in the web series Girl in the City (2016–2021), which she followed with her main role as Kavya Kulkarni in the successful series Little Things (2016–2021). The series became a major hit on Netflix and earned her critical acclaim and awards.

In 2017, she made her Marathi film debut with Muramba, for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – Marathi.

She later appeared in several notable films including Karwaan (2018), alongside Irrfan Khan and Dulquer Salmaan, and Chopsticks (2019).

She appeared with Kajol and Tanvi Azmi in the Netflix film Tribhanga, which she starred in during 2021. She also appeared in the Hollywood film A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting in a cameo role.
