Chandraveer Mertiya was born on 2 April 2005. He is the son of Mangal Singh and Pushpa Kanwar, and the brother of Chandrapal Mertiya. Chandraveer Mertiya received his secondary education from Central Academy, Bhankrota, Jaipur and higher secondary education from Divine Child International School, Ahmedabad. He holds a Bachelors in Commerce (Honours) degree from the Faculty of Commerce, GLS University and is currently studying Masters in Commerce (M.Com.) from GLS University. He has done a CCC (Course on Computer Concepts) from Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC).

NCC

Chandraveer Mertiya has been selected among 3 cadets from his unit for an NCC National Level Camp at Mumbai Naval Dockyard. It was an 11-day camp where he had exposure to Indian Navy Officers and facilities of Indian Navy like submarines and naval airbase. He was accommodated on INS Trikand in the camp.

Chandraveer Mertiya has been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for outstanding performance in Social Service and Community Development Activity from ADG Major General Arvind Kapoor.

Rifle Shooting

He completed the Civilian Rifle Training Scheme conducted by the Ahmedabad Military and Rifle Training Association under the Gujarat State Civilian Rifle Training Scheme. He completed the basic rifle shooting training and obtained a Third Class result in the examination held on 30 April 2019.

Horse Riding

Mertiya started his training for Horse Riding at Gujarat Rajya Police Ashvadal Talim Kendra, Ahmedabad. He completed a fundamental course for horse riding in December 2019 and further did advance training for horse riding and show jumping.

Also, he did complete a course titled Horse Riding and Management from Gujarat Technological University in collaboration with Equestrian Sports Association and earned four credits.

Show Jumping

In the year 2022, Mertiya took part in the state level Khel Mahakumbh show jumping competition and won a Gold Medal. His horse during the show was named Vodka.

Mountaineering

Mertiya completed the Basic Mountaineering Course from the Swami Vivekanand Institute of Mountaineering (SVIM), Mount Abu. It was a 10-day course having practical, physical, and theoretical training components. Mertiya completed the course on an A grade.

Marathon and Running

Mertiya has been a part of various marathon and running events such as Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 and High On Life Night Marathon in Ahmedabad city. He was in the 5K category in both events.

Swimming

Mertiya also participated in indoor swimming championships conducted at Ellisbridge Gymkhana and Eka Club Kankaria in Ahmedabad.
