Shreyasee Das is an Indian independent youth researcher, essayist and social innovator from Salt Lake, Kolkata, West Bengal. She is well-known for formulating the theory of Sustainable Wealth, which involves a conceptual approach that connects economic philosophy with Indian philosophy, Pancha Tattva, thermodynamics and cognitive science. She is also the founder of MindSpace (MindSpace Idea), which is an educational and guidance program for youth created as part of the BriSharks entrepreneurship program.[1][2]

The concept revolves around the correlation of wealth, awareness, knowledge, purpose, time and resource. In her theoretical approach and educational program, she emphasizes interdisciplinary thinking, self-development and more holistic approach towards prosperity.

Early Life & Education

Shreyasee Das was born on 24 January 2012 in Salt Lake, Bidhannagar, an urban planned area of Greater Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Since her early school days, she has shown an inclination towards interdisciplinary studies that involved her education in combination with self-study of science, computing, philosophy and human consciousness.

During her education, she has actively taken part in intellectual competition and technical training programs. She won a Gold Medal in International Computer Science Olympiad (ICSO), which is given on account of her talent in computational logic and programming. She earned the distinction certificate in Green Olympiad organized by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI).

Apart from this, Shreyasee Das took foundational technical courses and academic workshops accredited by Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay).

Career

Research and Theoretical Work

The main area of research of Shreyasee Das is the interconnection of economic value, human consciousness, philosophy and cognition. Her research is dedicated to alternative methods of evaluation of wealth, which are not limited to such criteria as personal savings, income and gross domestic product (GDP).

Sustainable Theory of Wealth

One of the most notable achievements of Shreyasee Das is the creation of Sustainable Theory of Wealth. This theory is interdisciplinary in nature and unites the ideas of economic thought with Indian metaphysics, thermodynamics and cognitive science. The concept of wealth is seen as a dynamic process of energy flow, described by the formula:[3][4]

<math>\text{Wealth} = \text{Energy} \times \text{Circulation} \times \text{Time}</math>

The model suggests a 4 Capitals Model comprising of four parts:

  • Knowledge Capital: Knowledge, understanding, conceptualization and technical abilities.
  • Purpose Capital: Intentionality, ethics and direction.
  • Time Capital: Attention and time management.
  • Physical Capital: Tangible assets, technological resources and ecological resources.

According to the theory, sustainable prosperity is determined by the relations between these four parts rather than by financial accumulation alone.

Philosophical Systems and Conceptual Frameworks

Using the variable X as a conceptual tool in her book Get To Know The I, Das relates individual consciousness, human agency and self-awareness to the concept of Pancha Tattva, or five classical elements of Indian philosophy:

  • Prithvi (Earth): Structural stability, ability and resource retention.
  • Jala (Water): Flexibility, empathy, adaptability and transaction.
  • Agni (Fire): Value creation, transformation and creative power.
  • Vayu (Air): Information transfer and communication networks.
  • Akash (Space): Awareness, perspective and system presence.

In her book The Soil and The Sentence – GAIE, Das investigates the relationship between biological systems of soil, language and cognition through the concept of "mother container". The "Onflux of Container" principle underlies the importance of internal capacity to retain and use resources. She expresses this idea through the relationship:

<math>\text{Container Capacity} = \text{Prana (Vitality)} + \text{Vak (Articulated Speech)} + \text{Ojas (Resilience)}</math>

Furthermore, the Solar Consciousness framework consists of three phases, namely Physical Sun, Astral Sun, and Void Sun. Each phase indicates a stable phase, the one of intellectual and institutional presence and legacy respectively.

MindSpace (MindSpace Idea)

In the year 2026, Shreyasee Das launched an entrepreneurial venture called MindSpace, also referred to as MindSpace Idea as a part of BriSharks entrepreneurship program. This initiative is especially aimed at students of 11th and 12th standard classes.

The MindSpace project concentrates on personal development, mindfulness, problem solving skills and education & career decision making. This initiative proposes a learning process involving attention related approaches, behavioral ethics and aspects of Sustainable Theory of Wealth for students' contemplation regarding their skills, priorities and future ambitions.
