Dr. Routhu Rakesh Kumar was born in 1998 in Rajam, Vizianagaram district, Andhra Pradesh, India. He comes from a family of government employees, not something flashy. From a young age, he showed interest in academics, sports, and extracurricular activities, though he balanced everything in a casual way. He completed his MBBS degree then later earned the Diploma in Emergency Medicine (DEM) and also an MD in Physiology , and finally an MBA in Hospital & Healthcare Management.

Career

Medicine and Social Service

After completing his MBBS, Dr. Rakesh Kumar joined Shodhana Trust, which was founded by Dr. P. D. K. Rao. He worked under the guidance of Dr. Rao and took part in rural healthcare, and social service programs. During this time he helped provide medical support to people in more than 50 villages across Andhra Pradesh and a lot of effort went into it.

Cricket Career

Dr. Rakesh Kumar started his cricket path early in 2013, he played for the Andhra Cricket Association, at the state stage. Even while he kept moving forward with his medical career, he was still active in competitive cricket for a variety of national and international doctors’ tournaments. He has represented India in doctors’ cricket against Sri Lanka and, through those performances he has gained a certain recognition at state, national, and international level.

Cinema Career

Along with medicine and cricket, Dr. Rakesh Kumar also developed an interest in cinema. He has appeared in four films in supporting roles. He worked too as an Assistant Director under filmmaker Ajith Vasan Uggina, and that kind of helped him pick up things from the background while filmmaking. Not totally straight forward, but it gave him a sort of insider view.

Now he is preparing to debut as a lead actor in an upcoming Kannada film, directed by Alak Niranjan. He is also attached to a few other film projects that are still moving along.
