Geetanjali Foundation is an Indian nonprofit organization which advocates for the rights of transgender people and differently-abled individuals and non-binary persons. The foundation which started its operations in 2019 works to provide social welfare and human rights protection and educational and health services to people from marginalized communities.
The organization dedicates its efforts to raise awareness about transgender rights while developing programs and social initiatives which create an inclusive and equitable society.
History
The Geetanjali Foundation was formally established in 2019. Since then, the organization has expanded continuously in terms of social development services. It has worked for the promotion of sustainable, equitable, and participatory development, social welfare, and social justice.
The organization undertakes programs in social work, human resource management, health services, and other human services through social research and dissemination of socially relevant knowledge. It also engages in social intervention through training and field action and contributes to social welfare policies and programs at the state, national, and international levels.
Over the years, the organization has made significant contributions to planning, action strategies, and human resource development in several areas, including rural and urban development, education, health, agriculture, and human rights. Its primary focus has always been on disadvantaged and marginalized sections of society such as women, children, and tribal communities.

Activities
Geetanjali Foundation works in multiple sectors including:

Social Work
During the second COVID-19 wave, the Geetanjali Foundation used social media to provide information about oxygen cylinders and essential medications and the availability of hospital beds which included ICU facilities in both private and government hospitals.
The organization helped both vulnerable people and people with disabilities by working together with government officials and medical facility managers to deliver essential services.
Aims and Objectives

Management and Planning
The internal reform process of Geetanjali Foundation has started to produce outcomes which enhance its capabilities for planning and monitoring and evaluating performance and managing its human resources and financial and administrative operations. The organization established a standard yearly planning system which enables members to develop their skills while guiding them through results-based planning and monitoring processes. The organization needs to enhance its process for generating lessons learned and best practices.
Decision Making
The administrative body of Geetanjali Foundation considers decision making to be an essential function which supports its operational activities. All managerial functions including planning organization direction and control require decision making as foundational activity. Decision making consists of thinking and deciding before doing which functions as our operational responsibility. The organization uses decision making as a fundamental process which ensures successful execution of its objectives through implementation of its policies and programs and strategic plans.
Structure and Governing Council
The Governing Council of the organization is responsible for the conduct of the organization’s general operations, performing duties under powers delegated by the council, as provided in the Articles of Constitution.
The Governing Council meets regularly at the headquarters in Noida. The council serves audit and budget for programmes, development effectiveness, governance and administrative matters.
The financial and administrative management of Geetanjali Foundation gets executed by its Governing Council members who include the Hon'ble Chairman, Chairman Director General, Director, Project Director, Program Officer, Joint Secretary General, Secretary and Secretary General. The organization designates the Secretary General as its top executive.
Achievements and Recognition
The Geetanjali Foundation has made substantial contributions to social welfare and human rights protection, which particularly benefits transgender individuals and marginalized groups. The organization has received recognition for its educational work and health awareness initiatives and social justice efforts.
