Bigfoot Publications began its existence in 2017 to 2018 when Deepak Yadav established it while he studied at Banaras Hindu University. The company developed from his personal experience of working as an author.
Yadav published his debut book Walking with You, in the Shades of Love through Diamond Pocket Books when he was 17 years old. The book received limited commercial success despite its release from an early-career author. He learned about the absence of publisher support which included both marketing assistance and personal branding guidance.
Yadav studied the publishing industry to find its missing elements after he spoke with multiple emerging writers about their publishing difficulties. The writers' community began as a WhatsApp group which transformed into Bigfoot Publications.
His second book, Daughters of the Brothel: Stories from Delhi’s Red Light District, published in 2019, received wider recognition and reportedly sold thousands of copies. The book achieved commercial success because it helped him establish his goal of developing a publishing platform which assists authors with their publishing needs and helps them discover their target readers.
