Early Life & Education
Dr. Bhavin Vadodariya was born in 1988 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. He was raised in a middle-class family with strong educational and professional values. His father worked as a Bank Manager, while his mother was a homemaker who played a significant role in nurturing discipline and education within the family.
Because of his father’s transferable banking job, Dr. Bhavin spent his childhood and schooling years across different cities of Gujarat, including Gandhinagar, Bhuj, and Ahmedabad, giving him exposure to diverse cultures and environments from an early age. He completed his schooling primarily through Gujarati medium education, an experience that shaped his grounded personality and connection with people from all socioeconomic backgrounds.
Dr. Bhavin, with ancestral roots tracing back to Vadod village near Limbdi in Surendranagar district of Gujarat, from where the family surname Vadodariya originates.
Medicine runs strongly within his family. His siblings include well-known doctors practicing in Ahmedabad, including Dr. Jatin Vadodariya. His wife is also a doctor and a practicing Anesthesiologist, and together they share a commitment toward patient care and medicine.
Medical Education and Surgical Training
Dr. Bhavin completed his Higher Secondary (12th Board) education in Gujarati medium and subsequently secured admission to the prestigious Medical College Baroda under The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in 2005 for his MBBS degree.
After graduating, he completed his post-MBBS internship training at B. J. Medical College, Ahmedabad, in 2011.
Before entering postgraduate surgical training, he worked as a Tutor in Pharmacology from 2011–2012, strengthening his academic foundation and teaching skills.
He then pursued MS in General Surgery at Medical College Baroda and Sir Sayajirao General Hospital, successfully completing his surgical training in 2015.
Following completion of his MS, Dr. Bhavin served as an Assistant Professor in General Surgery at GCS Medical College and Hospital, Ahmedabad, where he was involved in both surgical practice and resident training.
Driven by his passion for cancer surgery, he joined DrNB Surgical Oncology training under the National Board of Examinations at Apollo Hospital Ahmedabad under the mentorship of Dr. Shakuntala Shah.
During his superspecialty training, Dr. Bhavin actively sought advanced exposure and additional learning opportunities, including:
- 2018: Advanced training in Microvascular Surgery and Free Flap Harvesting at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi
- 2021: Observership in Surgical Oncology at Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute, Hyderabad
- 2021: Prestigious Thyroid Surgery Preceptorship at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai
Following completion of his superspecialty training, Dr. Bhavin worked across several leading hospitals in Ahmedabad as a consultant Head and Neck Surgical Oncologist, including associations with Apollo Hospital and HCG.
In 2024, he joined SSO Cancer Centre Ahmedabad as Department Lead and Lead Consultant Surgical Oncologist, with a focus on advancing comprehensive cancer care, particularly in Head & Neck Oncology, Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery, Transoral Robotic Surgery, and advanced oncological reconstruction.
This journey—from Gujarati-medium schooling to leading cancer surgery programs—reflects his belief that determination, discipline, and continuous learning often matter more than where one begins.[4][5][6]

He is regularly invited as faculty member, speaker, lecturer, and panelist at different national and international oncology conferences too. Beyond all that academic effort, he also takes part in cancer awareness programs, medical education efforts, and digital patient education initiatives, which helps a lot in patient understanding.
