Priya Marathe was born on 23 April 1987 in Mumbai, the financial capital of India. In her hometown, she finished her elementary and secondary education. A successful career in Marathi and Hindi television began when Priya made her acting debut in the Marathi television serial Ya Sukhanoya. She later gained recognition for her role in Char Divas Sasuche.
Career
Priya Marathe was notable for her Hindi TV shows, Marathi TV shows, and further made a name for herself as an Indian stand-up comedian. Alongside Sushant Singh Rajput, she became best known for the role of Varsha Satish in the Hindi TV serial "Pavitra Rishta". She stepped into the role of Bhavani Rathod in "Saath Nibhaana Saathiya" in February 2017. She also acted as Vidya Bali in Balaji Telefilm's "Kasamh Se" and was a contestant in Comedy Circus Season 1.

Death
After a long and valiant fight with cancer, Priya Marathe passed away on August 31, 2025, at her home in Mira Road, Mumbai. When she passed away, she was 38 years old. Marathe had been receiving cancer treatment for more than a year, but her condition continued to worsen in spite of ongoing medical attention, according to media reports. In both the Hindi and Marathi television industries, her sudden death sparked a wave of grief as fans, friends, and coworkers paid heartfelt tributes to the actress and expressed their profound sadness.
