Tere Ishk Mein is an Indian 2025 Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by Aanand L. Rai and written by Himanshu Sharma.[1][2] Dhanush and Kriti Sanon play the main roles in the movie,[3][4] which is Dhanush's first time working with Rai since Raanjhanaa (2013). A. R. Rahman is the composer of the music. The film, which was produced by Colour Yellow Productions and T-Series Films, is slated to open in theaters on November 28, 2025.

Plot

In this romantic action drama, Shankar (Dhanush), an irate young man, develops feelings for Mukti (Kriti Sanon), his college classmate. During their time in college, their relationship grows closer, but when Mukti decides to split up and get married to someone else, things get complicated.

The narrative depicts Shankar's inner turmoil, the fallout from his rage, and the effects of unfulfilled love on their lives. The film, which is set in Banaras, depicts the passionate love between Shankar and Mukti. It explores a romance that ultimately transforms them both through commitment and change, while also healing and hurting them.

Production

Film Development & Casting

The film marks the third collaboration between Rai and Dhanush. Rai decided to cast Dhanush once more because, in his opinion, the actor is a perfect fit.[5] [6][7][8] In February 2025, Kriti Sanon was selected as the female lead. Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav co-wrote the dialogue, story, and screenplay. This movie is regarded as Raanjhanaa's spiritual continuation. Although it was first announced in June 2023, Dhanush's hectic schedule prevented filming from starting until October 2024, with the exception of a promo shoot.

Film Shooting

In June 2023, on the tenth anniversary of Raanjhanaa, the promo video was shot, and principal photography started in October 2024.[9]Kriti joined the film in February 2025, and it was shot in Banaras and Delhi. The movie is currently in post-production after filming concluded in July 2025. A few scenes that were shot at Shri Ram College of Commerce went viral. The last phase of the Leh schedule was shot in Mumbai in April 2025.[10]

Soundtrack

The film’s music is composed by A. R. Rahman.

Release

On November 28, 2025, Tere Ishq Mein will be released in Hindi and Tamil theaters throughout India.[11][12]

Marketing

On January 27, 2025, the first teaser for the movie was posted on YouTube.[13][14] On October 1, 2025, the full teaser was released along with holiday films like Tulsi Kumari and Kantara: Chapter 1.

The cast, director, producers, and musicians attended a lavish Mumbai event to unveil the soundtrack. When the official trailer debuted on November 14, 2025, it was widely praised by the media for its powerful narrative, emotional depth, and eye-catching imagery.[15]The film drew comparisons to Raanjhanaa for its tone and theme of spiritual love. Promotions are being jointly handled by Colour Yellow and T-Series.[16][17][18][19] [20][21]
