Early Life & Education
Manjot Singh was born on 7 July 1992 in New Delhi into a Punjabi Sikh family. He completed his schooling at Hillwoods Academy in New Delhi. Although he had never acted before—not even in school plays—he developed an interest in performing later and eventually stepped into films through auditions.
Career
Manjot Singh began his acting career with Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! (2008). Director Dibakar Banerjee insisted on casting him despite his lack of acting experience. He won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of the younger version of the main character, which was highly praised by critics.
After receiving this recognition, he studied the mannerisms of actor Abhay Deol to fit the role while training in a Manali workshop.
He took part in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi Level 3, a reality show, in 2010.
He later starred in Udaan (2012) and Pure Punjabi (2012), a Punjabi musical drama. Manjot's performance as Dimpy in Student of the Year (2012) helped him become more well-known.
He played Lali again in Fukrey Returns (2017) and Fukrey 3 (2023) after starring in the sleeper hit Fukrey in 2013. Additionally, he made a brief appearance in Phone Bhoot (2022) as Lali.
He performed in Dream Girl and Penalty in 2019. He appeared briefly in Student of the Year 2 that same year, once more as Dimpy.
Alongside Kapil Sharma, KRK, Manjot Singh, and other cast members, Manjot made an appearance in Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 in 2025. He made a comeback to mainstream comedy cinema with this movie.
