Dr. Debadatta Padhan was born on 4 July 1991 in the village of Bardol, is near Bargarh district, Odisha. He was raised in a Kulita family that was humble and full of values, which contributed a lot to his disciplined view of life and learning. He has two elder sisters, Debajani Padhan and Priyadarshini Padhan, both of whom are married. His father Mr. Kartika Padhan, a retired teacher, and mother Mrs. Anusuya Padhan, a housewife, were his source of inspiration to lead a life of education and academic service.
He started his schooling at Government UP School, Bardol (Class 1), then went to Government ME School, Kadobahal (Class 2-7). He completed Class 8-12 and Graduation from Bargarh. He continued his education with various higher qualifications like an M.Sc in Zoology (Kalinga University, Raipur), an M.Sc in Chemistry (Bundelkhand University, Jhansi), and a B.Ed from the University of Kashmir.
