Sowmya Devraj was born on 3 september 2001 in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. She is a native Telugu Speaker. She has been living in a multicultural environment, which, according to her, was a major factor in her becoming a person infatuated with people, emotions, and communication. In her early years, she was highly attracted to and experimented with artistic means of letting out her feelings - she danced, wrote, and acted. The above-mentioned influences helped her take the path of a storyteller and a human-centered entrepreneur.
Career
Sowmya began her professional journey in creative strategy, digital branding and content-driven projects. These first jobs made her realize how the changes in communication, emotions, and identity could affect both the digital and physical communities and vice versa.
She later founded TryConnect- a platform aimed at reconnecting humans through storytelling and hence the removing of emotional barriers in the modern world ruled by technology. The platform allows people to interact through structured methods like theme-based conversations, group activities, and events held for the community.
