History
The Sai Seva Sangh was established in August 1988. The members, who had all benefited from free and value-based education, felt a deep sense of responsibility to give back to society. It was this feeling that led to the formation of the Sai Seva Sangh, which would serve as a haven for children who were in need of care, support, and opportunities.
The Sai Seva Sangh began its operations in a slum area in Moosapet, Hyderabad, which was dotted with small-scale industries where children were at risk of being drawn into child labor and illiteracy. Without any formal infrastructure or setup, but solely out of commitment, the Sai Seva Sangh began its operations with 26 children, with the sole aim of imparting basic literacy and numeracy skills. Later, education was not restricted to academics alone but also included art, music, dance, sports, and value-based education, which helped children unlock their hidden potential.
