Rakesh Bedi is an Indian actor who has worked in Hindi movies and television shows and stage performances. He has worked in more than 150 films and multiple television shows. He is most famous for his comedic performances in the 1981 movie Chashme Buddoor and his roles in the television series Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi and Shrimaan Shrimati and Yes Boss. His performance of Jameel Jamali in the movies Dhurandhar (2025) and Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge (2026) received him positive feedback from viewers.[1][2]

Early Life & Education

Rakesh Bedi was born in New Delhi, India. He completed his schooling in Delhi and later pursued acting at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune. He began his career in performing arts by doing mono-acting and theatrical performances when he was still very young.[3][4][5]

Career

Bedi started his acting career when he appeared in the 1979 movie Hamare Tumhare. His roles in Chashme Buddoor and Ek Duuje Ke Liye brought him public recognition. He became a popular Indian television actor through his roles in sitcoms Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi and Shrimaan Shrimati and Yes Boss. He has appeared in both Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain! and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah which are both ongoing television shows.[6][7][8][9][10]

He played Jameel Jamali in the audience-acclaimed spy thriller movies Dhurandhar (2025) and Dhurandhar: The Revenge (2026) which he performed during the past few years.
