The organization works to advance karate throughout the state by partnering with Karate India Organisation (KIO) and Bengal Olympic Association.
The organization is currently led by Premjit Sen (President), under whose leadership KAB has achieved significant growth and national recognition.
History
Legendary karate master Shihan Anil Sinha founded the organization to advance karate education while assisting Bengal's karate practitioners.
Shihan Sattrajit Chowdhury assumed leadership of the organization after his departure, leading the organization through a period of consistent advancement. Afterward, the organization responsibilities transitioned to Shihan Premjit Sen and Shihan Joydeb Mondal, both of whom possessed accomplished karate backgrounds and administrative experience.
Under their leadership, KAB gained national recognition and became a respected name within the Karate India Organisation.
Growth & Development
The Karate Association of Bengal experienced significant expansion during its development throughout the years. The organization currently operates throughout 19 districts in West Bengal, while maintaining connections with multiple affiliated karate styles.
KAB has consistently produced talented athletes who have excelled in both Kata and Kumite at national as well as international competitions. The association has achieved sustained progress, which has resulted in its current position as one of the top-ranked organizations in national federation rankings.
Major Milestone
The organization achieved its first important historic achievement through its 2008 competition which took place at Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata. The event attracted more than 2200 athletes who competed with two hundred referees and judges and more than 200 officials. The association provided free accommodation and meals to all participants because this event marked a historical moment in Indian karate history. This championship established a new period for Bengal karate which improved the state's ability to compete in national tournaments.
Activities & Social Contribution
The Karate Association of Bengal actively contributes to society through various initiatives aimed at spreading awareness and promoting self-defense. The association regularly organizes karate awareness rallies and conducts free self-defense training programs for girls and children. The organization works together with the West Bengal Government to deliver karate lessons in public schools. KAB provides their athletes with financial support together with training equipment and tracksuits and necessary items which help players to compete at higher performance standards.

Achievements
KAB has achieved significant recognition for its contributions to the sport of karate. The association has produced numerous national and international medalists who have brought pride to both Bengal and India.
Its athletes have represented the country in prestigious events such as the South Asian Karate Championships, Commonwealth Karate Championships, and competitions under the Asian Karate Federation (AKF).
Furthermore, KAB has successfully developed 7 Asian Karate Federation (AKF) Judges, showcasing its strength in both athlete development and technical expertise. The association also maintains a strong and consistent presence in national federation rankings.
