Mallika Sherawat was born as Reema Lamba on 24 October 1976, in Moth village , Haryana, into a Jat family. She finished her schooling at Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, New Delhi , then she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Miranda House , University of Delhi. Later she took on the screen name “Mallika Sherawat”, where “Sherawat” was basically her mother’s maiden surname.
Career
Before she got into films, Mallika Sherawat did television commercials and music videos alongside major stars like Amitabh Bachchan, and Shah Rukh Khan also. Her first real acting break came with Jeena Sirf Merre Liye (2002) and after that she got noticed across the country with Khwahish (2003), and then with the big hit Murder (2004).
She then made an international entry through the Chinese movie The Myth (2005), where she worked opposite Jackie Chan. After that she appeared in a bunch of commercially successful movies like Pyaar Ke Side Effects (2006) , Welcome (2007), Aap Ka Suroor (2007) Dasavathaaram (2008) and Double Dhamaal (2011). Her international slate also includes Hisss (2010), Politics of Love (2011), and Time Raiders (2016).
In 2013, Sherawat hosted the reality show Bachelorette India – Mere Khayalon Ki Mallika. Then in 2026 she joined The Traitors Season 2 as a celebrity contestant, so yeah this became kind of her come-back, back to reality television.
