Mallikarjun Mishra is an Indian jump-rope athlete from Bokaro Steel City, Jharkhand in India. He has been part of the school, senior national, international, and university championships in jump-rope. He has taken part in four CBSE National Championships, three Open Senior National Championships, three international championships, and one All India University Championship in his sporting career. Mishra has been successful in winning medals in both national and international championships, and he holds the national record in the 2022 Open Senior National Championships. Apart from playing the sport competitively, he has undergone coaching and judging programs as well as been involved in technical and mentoring exercises in rope skipping.[1][2]
Early Life & Education
Mallikarjun Mishra was born on 24 September 2006 in Bokaro Steel City, Jharkhand, India. He developed a passion for rope skipping during his school days, and he began competing in the sport in 2015 when he was in Class 5 at Bokaro Public School. He began training under the guidance of his coach Rahul Pratap. He began competing at the school level and then proceeded to CBSE national championships and further to senior national and international championships. He resumed his participation in the sport irrespective of the impact caused by the COVID-19 virus. After an interval of about two years in competitions, he resumed his participation in the national level in 2022.
Mishra completed his schooling in Bokaro Public School, Bokaro Steel City, Jharkhand. He is currently studying in a Bachelor of Physiotherapy program at Manav Rachna University, Faridabad. The academic aspect of studying physiotherapy is associated with his sports interests.
Career
Mallikarjun Mishra started participating in rope skipping competitions from the year 2015 at the school level. Success in competitions in CBSE contributed to his moving on to senior national and international levels.[3]
He represented himself in the CBSE National Championships four times between 2018 to 2023. In 2018, he earned one gold and one bronze medal; in 2019, one gold. After a hiatus due to COVID-19 pandemic, he appeared in the CBSE National Championships in 2022 and earned one gold and one silver medal. In 2023, he earned one silver medal. Then, he participated in the Open Senior National Championships thrice. He got two gold medals, one silver medal and one national record in the year 2022. In 2023, he got two gold medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal. In the 2024 Open Senior National Championships, he got one silver and one bronze medal. International achievements of his include representing in the World Rope Skipping Cup 2018 held in New Delhi and earning one silver and one bronze medal.
Then, he appeared in the South Asian Championship in Nepal and earned two gold medals. In 2026, he participated in the South Asian Youth Games in Sri Lanka and earned two gold medals. Mishra has also taken part at the All India University Championship where he won one silver medal in Individual Freestyle.
Coaching and Judging
Apart from his competitive achievements, Mishra has undergone coaching and judging courses in rope skipping. He has also been actively involved in the coaching and judging process. His competitive experience has been instrumental in his participation in various leadership and development activities of sports. In his school days, his duties included Head Boy and Sports In-Charge.

Mallikarjun Mishra's accomplishments are his evolution from being a rope-skipping athlete on the school level to being on the national and international level. The beginning of Mishra's sports career was made in 2015 in Bokaro Public School under the supervision of coach Rahul Pratap. Beyond Competitions
Mallikarjun Mishra has been continuing his interest in rope skipping beyond competitions by virtue of coaching, judging and mentoring programs. He has been participating in the development of athletes as he has undergone professional training in the sport. Apart from participation in the sport, he is studying physiotherapy at Manav Rachna University. His aim is to blend his experience as an athlete and the knowledge about physiotherapy and help in the recovery and rehabilitation of athletes.
Personal Life
Mallikarjun Mishra resides in Bokaro Steel City, Jharkhand. He is a member of the joint family, and his family constitutes an important part of his personal background. He comes from Braj Bhushan Mishra who works as an employee ofSAIL and Kusum Mishra who is a housewife. His paternal bua ('Laxmi Dubey) is also a housewife. His elder sister is a director of a private limited company Supriya Dubey. Mishra also has an elder brother Suraj Prakash Dubey who passed away in August 2025. Mishra continues to engage in competition along with his physiotherapy studies and other sport-related activities.
