Priya Singh (born 30 August 2000) is an Indian poet, novelist, lyricist, and screenwriter. She gained prominence with her song The Snowfall of December, which was produced in the UK and reached the Top 16 on the London iTunes chart.[1] Singh has written over 20 poetic fictions, and her works have been translated into several languages.
Early Life and Education
Priya Singh was born in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, into a family of professors. She studied at SJS Public School, Lalganj, where she developed her interest in poetry. She authored her first poetry book in class 10.[2] Singh completed her B.A. and M.A. in English Literature from Dr. Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow, where she received a silver medal by Hon’ble Governor.[3] She later pursued a screenwriting course from AAFT University, Noida.
Career
Priya Singh is a member of the Indian Performing Right Society (IPRS), Mumbai. Her song The Snowfall of December earned national acclaim and was titled Best Christmas Song of the Year by various platforms.[4]
Her literary works have been featured in international platforms, and some have been selected for screen adaptations. Singh’s novel Babydoll is noted for its feminist themes and is being adapted for the screen by Ukiyoto Publishing.[5] She is also known for writing in a unique “mirror-style” format.
