Antara Biswas, professionally known as Monalisa, is an Indian actress who works mainly in Bhojpuri films and Hindi television. She gained nationwide recognition after participating in Bigg Boss 10 (2016) and is best known for her role as Mohana Rathod in the supernatural TV series Nazar. In 2025, she appeared as a contestant on the reality show The 50.
Early Life & Education
Monalisa was born on 16 November 1982 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. She belongs to a Bengali Hindu family. She studied at Julien Day School, Kolkata, and later completed her Bachelor’s degree in Sanskrit from Ashutosh College, University of Calcutta.
Career
Monalisa began her career as a model and appeared in Odia video albums. She worked in several low-budget films before making her Bollywood debut in Blackmail. She also acted in South Indian films.
She entered Bhojpuri cinema with Bhole Shankar, which became a major commercial success. She later established herself as one of the leading actresses in Bhojpuri films with many hit projects.
On television, she became highly popular for portraying the negative character Mohana Rathod in Nazar. She later appeared in Namak Issk Ka and Bekaboo. In 2016, she participated in Bigg Boss 10. In 2025, she took part in the reality show The 50, adding another major reality show to her career.
