Sharvari Wagh professionally known as Sharvari , is an Indian actress and model who mostly shows up in Hindi films. She started out in the entertainment world as an assistant director, and then she finally got her acting break in the web series The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye (2020).[1]

Sharvari started getting noticed for her film debut in Bunty Aur Babli 2 (2021). For that role she picked up the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and also the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Female. After that she reached a broader audience with the commercially successful horror-comedy Munjya (2024), and that movie really made her one of the newer faces in the Hindi film industry.

Sharvari Wagh, basically known as Sharvari, is an Indian actress who works in Hindi films. She was born on 14 June 1997 in Mumbai , Maharashtra , India into a Marathi family. Her father is Shailesh Wagh who works as a builder, and her mother Namrata Wagh , is an architect. She finished school at The Dadar Parsee Youths Assembly High School in Mumbai, and later she studied at Ruparel College.[2][3][4]

Sharvari is also the granddaughter of the former Maharashtra Chief Minister Manohar Joshi. Even from a young age, she was drawn to acting and the whole entertainment scene.

Career

She began her whole journey in the film industry as an assistant director. Back then she worked on films like “Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2” (2015) and “Bajirao Mastani” (2015), and also “Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety” (2018).

After a bunch of auditions plus training, she finally stepped into acting in 2020, for the web series “The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye”, which was directed by Kabir Khan. She played Maya Shrinivasan and acted alongside Sunny Kaushal.

Then in 2021 she made her film debut in “Bunty Aur Babli 2” with Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan and Siddhant Chaturvedi. People liked her performance and she also bagged the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut, as well as the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Female.

Her bigger breakthrough turned up in 2024 with the horror comedy film “Munjya”. It did well at the box office and that helped lock her in as a rising actress in Bollywood. In the same year she also appeared in “Maharaj”, and she played the main role in the action drama “Vedaa” alongside John Abraham.

Now for 2026, Sharvari is starring opposite Vedang Raina in Imtiaz Ali’s romantic drama “Main Vaapas Aaunga”. She’s also scheduled to show up in “Alpha”, a movie from the YRF Spy Universe, and yes, it’s alongside Alia Bhatt.
