Dewald Tobias Brevis is a cricketer from South Africa. He represents Titans in domestic cricket matches. In addition, he represents Chennai Super Kings in Indian Premier League matches. Dewald is a right-handed batsman. Furthermore, he occasionally bowls leg spin. The cricketer is famous for his aggressive batting. Moreover, he holds several records. Dewald Tobias Brevis was born on 29 April 2003 in South Africa. From his early childhood, Dewald had developed an immense passion for cricket. Therefore, he started playing cricket at the junior level. The cricketer’s talent was recognized at an early age. Consequently, he quickly emerged as one of the most promising young cricketers in South Africa.
Career
Youth Career
Dewald Tobias Brevis gained fame during the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in the West Indies. During the tournament, he scored 506 runs. Furthermore, he recorded two centuries and three fifties. Therefore, Dewald emerged as the highest run-scorer in the tournament. As a result, he received the Player of the Tournament award. Moreover, he broke Shikhar Dhawan’s record of 505 runs.[2]
Additionally, Dewald was signed by Northerns for the 2021-22 season. Subsequently, he made his T20 debut on 8 October 2021. During his debut, he recorded 46 runs off 25 balls. Later, on 2 December 2022, he made his List A debut. Furthermore, on 26 February 2023, Dewald made his first-class debut.
On the 31st of October, 2022, Brevis scored 162 runs off 57 balls, which is the highest score in T20 cricket in South Africa. While batting, Brevis achieved the milestone of 150 runs in just 52 balls, which is a world record.
Franchise Career
In the year 2022, Brevis was picked up by the Mumbai Indians team in the IPL auction. He has been retained by the team for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

- On the 19th of August, 2025, Brevis debuted in ODI cricket.
- In the year 2026, Brevis scored 207 runs in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup and took the team to the semi-finals.
