Govinda was born 21 December 1963 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. His father was Arun Kumar Ahuja andher mother was singer-actress Nirmala Devi.[4]Govinda completed his Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree from Vartak College, Vasai. Inspired by the film Disco Dancer (1982), he decided to become an actor.
Career
Acting Career
Govinda began his acting career in 1986 with the films Love 86 and Ilzaam, both of which were box-office successes. During the late 1980s, he appeared in several popular movies such as Khudgarz (1987), Hatya (1988), Sindoor (1987), and Swarg (1990), establishing himself as a versatile actor.
The 1990s marked the peak of Govinda’s career as he emerged as one of Bollywood’s most loved comedy superstars.
